My Story
The Fiorentini Foundation enables children to access the world of performing arts, which I recently saw in action during a performance at the Hackney Empire. The children performing were all different ages and from a diversity of backgrounds; they humbled me with their incredible talent, commitment, energy and enthusiasm! Each of them were clearly striving to deliver an exceptional performance to the audience.
Childhood should be a time of immense opportunity - trying new things, discovering talents, developing skills, but too often this ability to play and explore is hampered by social inequality. Children and young people face immense social pressure and it can be tough for them to find a space to express themselves.
The Fiorentini Foundation breaks down these barriers, empowering children from all ages and backgrounds to explore the world for themselves, and discover that we are all wonderfully different. The Foundation offers children an opportunity to be accepted and celebrate what unique beings we are!
Inspired by their energy, I'm putting mine to the test by climbing the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours on 28 May ..... and hopefully survive it. I'll be raising money for this fantastic foundation, and ask you to please consider donating. For those taking bets, let me know the odds...
